Meet Andrea Kline

Judge Andrea Andrews Kline is a lifelong Tennessean dedicated to justice and community service. She earned her B.A. in Psychology, magna cum laude, and her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Tennessee College of Law.

After a short time in private practice, Andrea joined the Knox County District Attorney’s Office in 2000.  Known for her commitment to fairness and justice, General Kline has prosecuted thousands of cases across various courts.

In 2014, she pioneered Tennessee’s first Elder Abuse Special Prosecution Unit, collaborating with East Tennessee ElderWatch and the Tennessee Vulnerable Adult Coalition to address elder abuse comprehensively. Her efforts in drafting and lobbying for stronger legislation led to the passage of multiple laws protecting elderly and vulnerable adults from abuse and neglect.  Her work lead to the establishment of the statewide Vulnerable Adult Prosecution and Investigation Teams (VAPIT).  She has trained over 1,000 law enforcement personnel in identifying and prosecuting elder abuse and has contributed to public outreach on the issue.

On December 8, 2025, the Knox County Commission appointed Andrea to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Andrew Jackson, VI.

Beyond her professional role, she actively supports several community organizations, including the Junior League of Knoxville and CASA of East Tennessee. Judge Kline enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, and caring for her pets. She is the proud mother of three children.
